For a few months, I’ve been dreaming of this book, “The Ecology of Images“, a great compilation of 445 images by artist and photographer JACOPO BENASSI from La Spezia, Italy.
Ecological images: not retouched, not post-produced, not glossy, not manipulated, not artificial; capturing us with the pure enchantment of naked truth. A surprising machine-gun shot of objects and lives, stratified on top of each other. Traces and faces: ruddy, thin, modern, uneven, lofty, modest, aged, charming, brash, stupefied, spoiled, childish, generous, asthmatic, serene, marginal. Really beautiful, really ugly.
But good news: today I’ve discovered he has a blog titled Talkin Ass; a visual diary, made of images and photographs taken by him, often portraying friends, and published almost daily. Quite simply delightful!
Enough said. Enjoy your trip at http://talkinass.tumblr.com/
