Pastel et Nu, exhibition view at Centre Culturel Suisse, Paris
January-February 2015

I’m obviously a bit late to the game concerning this exhibition but even though I think it’s worth sharing: actually it is a view from the solo exhibition of Swiss artist NICOLAS PARTY entitled Pastel et Nu that was on view at Centre Culturel Suisse in Paris from mid January till yesterday (February 15, 2015).

For this exhibition, PARTY – according to the press release – ‘ has reinterpreted in charcoal FELIX VALLOTTON’s Four Torsos (1916), but has done so as repeated deconstructed motifs. Colored and framed landscapes are superimposed on large nudes depicted from behind. The artist has also worked with the large door that leads to the CCS courtyard, creating a composition that combines the same picture by VALLOTTON and a face that is characteristic of his own style of painting‘.

The good news is that an outdoor artwork by NICOLAS PARTY is on display until the summer of 2015 http://www.ccsparis.com/. You can also find a few more exhibition views at the CCS via the website of Gregor Staiger gallery or via The Modern Institute.
