Mailers is a unique series and format of work that New York-based photographer MOYRA DAVEY likes to refer to simply as mail art. She had initially sent the analog photographs that she has folded like envelopes, to friends as oversized postcards and then retrieved by the artist from their recipients completed with stamps, postmarks, and return addresses, vestiges of travel that do not exist with e-mail.

MOYRA DAVEY‘s practice encompasses photography, film and video, as well as reading and writing. She is currently featured in the MoMA exhibition New Photography 2011, on view until January 16, 2012 at MoMA, New York.
