With her Sur-Vie Sous series French photographer FLORE-AËL SURUN has been documenting from 1997 to 1999, the life of homeless teenagers living in the underground of Bucharest.

The violence of the world is very real, but I want to show always its opposite, the energy of life and not destruction. Who interests me, are the “survivors”. Those who find the strength to live despite the difficulties.
FLORE-AËL SURUN is part of the Tendance Floue art collective. Her photographs document different lifestyles across several countries, from teenagers in Beijing to portraits of French authors: the result is an intimate look at the people around the globe and a real mastery of light!

The whole series is haunting as much as, if not more than the picture above – on view via tendancefloue.net
