The works of Danish artist JAKOB KOLDING are emphasizing the importance of continuously re-thinking and challenging existing notions of space. His work unites images of modern architecture with all sorts of elements that refer to social and political aspects of space – elements that often strike one as surrealistic.
JAKOB KOLDING grew up in one of Copenhagen’s “suburbs” and uses the failure of these types of projects as a source of inspiration: his drawings, posters, and mixed-media sculptures combines basic collage techniques with an expert manipulation of text that raises questions of how urban spaces are structured and inhabited today.
