I’m always been a big enthusiast of OLAF BREUNING‘work in spite of the fact that I never posted something about him on WFW before. Better late than never!

OLAF BREUNING is a Swiss-born artist now living in New York. His work – photographs, installations, sculptures, films and drawings – are escapist investigations into commonplace imagery and narrative. Taking his cues from the media, mass culture and the internet, he explores the effects this imagery has upon us, generating a fresh, unguarded response. Reality and illusion, authenticity and artifice, barbarism and civility; the divergent impulses collide, often with absurd and hilarious results, as BREUNING exploits the thin line between humor and pain.

There is something delicously crazy about his sense of humor, scale and materials!
