Self-taught artist  THÉO MERCIER creates unknown creatures, supernatural and primal cosmologies. Leaving behind visual and intellectual comfort, he imposes paradoxes, oddities and humor as a point of view in plastic art. This results in exquisite corpses of sculptures and collages.

THÉO MERCIER graduated from the National School of Industrial Creation in Paris in 2005.  After having worked in MATTHEW BARNEY’s atelier in 2008, he set himself apart the following year by being awarded a “coup de cœur” in the HSBC Photography Competition. He has participated in numerous group exhibitions and has recently benefited from a solo show at the Museum of Hunting in Paris. He is represented by the Gabrielle Maubrie gallery in Paris.
