In Switzerland we have the well known international names like FISCHLI WEISS, THOMAS HIRSCHHORN or PIPILOTTI RIST but there are lots of youngsters that you might also discover at SWISS ART AWARDS. Definitively a snapshot of the upcoming Swiss art scene!

The works on display in a hall just across from the international fair are all prize winners in the annual Swiss Art Awards. The Federal Culture Office-sponsored awards are given out at a ceremony in Basel on Monday (two days before Art Basel opens). A glimpse into the nominees’ exhibition shows a lot of creativity in the video installations, installations and canvas work.
