This video presents excerpts of the “Messa di Voce“. Messa di Voce is an audiovisual performance and installation which augments the speech, shouts and songs produced by vocalists Jaap Blonk and Joan La Barbara with real-time interactive visualizations.

Custom software transforms every vocal nuance into correspondingly complex, subtly differentiated and highly expressive graphics. This performance is designed to provoke questions about the meaning and effects of speech sounds, speech acts, and the immersive environment of language.

“Messa di Voce” has been shown Monday 23th February at the Theatre Frederick Loewe in New-York.
