Kelly Bar was a blitz exhibition organized by artist run project PANE which took place in a Milanese cafe during three days last weekend.

PANE project seems to not have a permanent space but is rather a platform allowing a specific site for each artwork and project. For Kelly Bar, twenty artists created pieces appropriated from the apparatus that is generally used to create a neutral, functional, but familiar atmosphere in coffee shops or bars: a tv, plants, a selection of ‘fresh’ and package foods as well as drinks and plastic furnitures.

This project not only aimed to challenge the way we experience art and to extend the curation of an exhibition into a public space in a less precious and egalitarian form, but also to question the themes of self-organization and self-reliance in the economical and institutional context.
