CHRISTOPHE BOURGUEDIEU was born in 1961 in Marrakech. His work is best known through four books he has published: Les Passagers (Le Point du Jour, 2007), Eden (Le Point du Jour, 2004), Tavastia (Le Point du Jour, 2002) and Le Cartographe (Le Point du Jour, 2000).

For the series Les Passagers (2007), he has photographed young people from Perth area (Australia) where he was living for a while. Interested in the mutual relationships that the individual and the environment continually both make and break, BOURGUEDIEU has captured brilliantly a certain notion of uncertainty and doubt, something indiscernible which hovers over the characters and places.

And good news: La Montagne – a new book by CHRISTOPHE BOURGUEDIEU – will be released by the Éditions Loco, Paris next month. Meanwhile you can view more images of the series Les Passagers, here.
