Seven things you need to know about STEFANO CASCIANI:

  1. He was born in Rome in 1955
  2. He is designer and artist: he designed and realised objects in limited series of objects which have been presented in numerous exhibitions in art galleries and museums
  3. He carries out an intense activity in critique and journalism: he was editorial staff of Domus and Ollo and, since 1992, of Abitare
  4. He is the author of books on design, amongst which: ”This was tomorrow” (1991), ”Design in Italia 1950 – 1990” (1991), ”Atelier Mendini” (with Raffaella Poletti, 1994), ”La fabbrica dell’arte. Design in Italia verso il terzo millennio” (1996).
  5. He gives advice on image and communication (working for Alchiminia, BTicino, Cleto Munari, Edition Gabi Faeh, Olivari, Zanotta)
  6. Since 2000 he is vice-director of the Domus magazine
  7. CASCIANI has receive the Award ”Compasso d’Oro” 2001 for the RAI television programme ”Lesson of Design”
