Harmony Korine & Proenza Schouler

Act Da Fool. Directed by HARMONY KORINE. All clothing by PROENZA SCHOULER AW 10. Styling MEL OTTENBERG

Cult US film maker HARMONY KORINE‘s short film for PROENZA SCHOULER‘s Fall’10 collection officially went live yesterday on proenzaschouler.com

In collaboration with the PROENZA SCHOULER designers, JACK MCCULLOUGH and LAZARO HERNANDEZ, KORINE shot Act Da Fool, a series of 8mm vignettes accompanied by a soft, lilting voice over featuring rebellious teen girls in their local neighbourhood. Taking inspiration from a single photograph by CHRISTOPHER WOOL, the film is a look at urban youth and their search for friendship and fulfillment, through the heady confusion of adolescence and its many pressures.

“It’s about girls who sleep in abandoned cars and set things on fire. It’s about the great things in life. The stars in the sky and lots of malt liquor.” – Harmony Korine on Act Da Fool

It is a poignant vision exploring the confusion, wonder and pressures of growing up. Don’t miss the video interview of PROENZA SCHOULER designers and Q&A with HARMONY KORINE on proenzaschouler.com

  1. such “hype”, such crap… it’s insane how this fashion world has become clueless, without soul and guts… only a big joke for very, very rich people… so sad
