Stabalise Motion from BART HESS

Stabalise Motion, The nude edit from BART HESS

Yeah…I admit it: I’m one of the biggest fan of Dutch artist BART HESS.  Mutant skins, breathing shoes, living furs and metallic gloves are just a part of his projects (sometimes in collaboration with LUCY MCRAE).

In 2007, BART HESS graduated from the Design Academy, Eindhoven in the Man and Identity department (this department looks at finding new materials, forecasting trends in fashion and culture). Since then he never stops working by testing material on the body, exploring volumes and ways of re-shaping the human silhouette. In short, he is creating imagery that capture future human shapes and new body form’s.

For these videos above – discovered earlier this year at Milano- he uses the human body in a research of movement in material. It intrigues me and mades me smile at the same time!

And the GREAT news is that he will give a performance with the life silhouettes of LucyandBart at Centre Pompidou in Paris in the middle of November. More info here
