My first manga was “Baby Boom” by Japanese manga artist YUICHI YOKOYAMA. And it is still one of my favorite book in my personal library. Hyperstylized designs for characters, architecture and landscapes, everything and everyone is abstracted and some sequences are almost pure pattern. His work brings fresh surprises and excitement to the viewer.

After studying oil painting in Japan, YUICHI YOKOYAM began to draw manga as a medium that best suited his form of expression. To date, he has produced many manga pieces, including ” New Engineering”, “Travel”,  “NIWA” and “Baby Boom”, which has gained high acclaimed both in and out of Japan.

YUICHI YOKOYAM describes himself his unique expression as “neo-manga” has easily overcome the limits of a two dimensional media to superbly draw “time” and “space”. A pure delight!
