YOSHI SODEOKA likes noise ( the kind of incoherent nonsensical noise), electronics devices, junk TV, underground internet culture and sub-cultures in general which he combines with photography and collage in lo-fi video both alluring and impossible to interpret.

I like working with music that’s non-structural, since that fits my visual style and process. Every visual source I need to make my art is on the internet these days. I filter through those material with both digital and analogue equipment. I’m interested in making a bridge between something old and new. I like seeing a good fusion of retro and modern in my work.”

YOSHI SODEOKA is a multidisciplinary artist and musician based in New York City. Over the past decade, his videos have been featured in exhibitions across the world. He has received grants from the likes of the Greenwall foundation and his work is part of the permanent collections of the San Francisco MoMA and New York’s Museum of the Moving Image.
