If I Wasn’t Me I Would Be You. 2004. Christine Burgin Gallery, New York NY

American artist HARRELL FLETCHER works collaboratively and individually on interdisciplinary, site-specific projects exploring the dynamics of social spaces and communities.

The project “If I Wasn’t Me I Would Be You” consisted of a series of scars photographs and their accompanying stories, collected and displayed in the lobby of a county probation office in downtown Portland, OR (2003). A year after, HARRELL FLETCHER presented a video of people’s scars with the stories of how they got them at Christine Burgin Gallery, New York NY.
