For the exhibition in Rapperswil, GABRIEL KURI presented older works he categorizes under the “product testing” heading as well as a new series of sculptures created specifically for this project. His works often consist of functional everyday objects and disposable products, which become display objects as sculptures. In KURI’s work, these materials—via their actual functions, visual look and feel—serve as information media, whose usage also says something about the society that produces them.*

The exhibition was curated by CHRISTINA LEHNERT  and was on view at Alte Fabrik in Rapperswil, Switzerland from May 20 to July 31, 2016. I really recommend to watch this video in which GABRIEL KURI is interviewed by JO-EY TANG in 2013.
