I mentioned MELANIE MATRANGA‘s work before and I’m bound to mention it again since her new solo exhibition just opened last week in Paris at Palais de Tokyo and this is one of the shows that I want to see.

Entitled 反复 [FANFU]  which means ‘again and again’ in Mandarin according to the press release, the Parisian presentation features works that straddle sculpture and readymades. As for her previous works, the pieces at Palais de Tokyo seem to revolve around ambiguity, uncertainty, and precariousness. Eventually the whole exhibition is a series of landscapes that are conveying moments of life, with all its contradictions, limitations, defects, and deceptions.

反复 [FANFU] by MELANIE MATRANGA is on view at Palais de Tokyo until January 10, 2015. Please note also that a monographic book published by the Parisian institution is accompanying this exhibition.
