Commissioned to create a new object or series based upon this year’s designated theme of “Conversation Pieces”, Vienna-based studio MISCHER’TRAXLER (KATHARINA MISCHER and THOMAS TRAXLER) focused on projects that require more than one to be fully functioning.

Collective Works is a machine that produces only when getting attention. The more people around the machine, the more colorful the outcome (a lot of people around the machine = dark blue; 2 people or less=light blue). At the end of the day, the object becomes a three dimensional recording of its “visitors”.

Mark your agenda: 16 June, 17h30-18h30: Designers of the Future, Conversation Pieces. ASIF KHAN, STUDIO JUJU and MISCHER’TRAXLER will discuss their backgrounds, practices and plans for impacting the future through design.
