SANDY SMITH is a Scottish visual artist currently based in New York City. While working in a variety of media, including installation, video, photography, textual and new media, his work revolves around idea(l)s of melancholic romance, human/artistic striving and exuberant optimism.
SANDY SMITH has exhibited extensively in Europe on exchanges, residencies and with solo and group shows. He spent the latter part of 2008 touring America with exhibitions in Seattle, Las Vegas, Salt Lake City and a residency in Utah at TUAC. He has previously exhibited in Glasgow as well as at Collective Gallery Edinburgh and at The Royal Scottish Academy.
