Combining still performances with anonymous sitters, cast papier-mâché mannequins, and  cardboard cutouts in room-size constructed paper sets, GINA OSTERLOH’s photographs explore the process of identifying and the structure of seeing. These life-size collages and an applied crude pattern confuse perception of space and objects.

The result is unsettling images of life size rooms where GINA OSTERLOH activates metaphors of camouflage beyond the language of war and makes visible the dis/continuities between the performing body and her prefabricated environments.
